A man was arrested after he allegedly punched and slapped his daughter at a sporting event in Hall County, Georgia. Deputies were called to Cherokee Bluff Middle School after 2 pm on Saturday to investigate a report of a man hitting a female child, Fox News reported.

The preliminary investigation revealed that 38-year-old Steven Mathue Slaton, a resident of Commerce, became angry with his daughter for not emerging victorious in a wrestling match held at the school.

Reportedly, he punched the girl in the back, slapped her across the face, and then picked her up by her ears, lifting the girl over his head.

Fortunately, the sheriff's office reported that the girl did not sustain any physical injuries.

Notably, the victim is not a student in the Hall County School District, she and her family had travelled to Hall County for the youth wrestling event, which was not sponsored by the school district.

Slaton was charged with felony cruelty to children in the first degree. He posted a $11,200 bond on Monday afternoon.

Earlier, a Colorado mother accused of murdering two of her children and injuring a third was arrested in London after being on the run for days. Kimberlee Singler, 35, appeared at Westminister Magistrate's court on New Year's Day, charged with the murder of her two children.

Singler has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted murder, three counts of child abuse and one count of assault.

Her daughter, aged nine, and son, seven were found dead at a home in Colorado on December 19, along with her 11-year-old daughter who was injured, BBC reported.

England skipper Ben Stokes' direct hit to dismiss Ravindra Jadeja wasn't just the turning point of the first Test but could also be one that decides the course of the series as India's No 1 all-rounder across formats was seen struggling with a hamstring niggle. Jadeja, who was the top scorer in India's first innings with 87 and also took five wickets across two innings, might have snapped a hamstring muscle as he immediately felt the area trying to go for a quick single.

He didn't look comfortable and head coach Rahul Dravid, wasn't forthcoming about the extent of the damage.

"We'll see. I honestly haven't had a chance to speak to the physio as yet. Once I get back, I'll speak to him and see what it is about," Dravid said at the post-match media conference.

The extent of the hamstring injury decides the duration of lay-off but even if it is not a tear and just merely strain, it still might be advisable to give him rest for a week if not more.

The turnaround between first and second Test is a very short one - just four days - as it starts on February 2 at Visakhapatnam.

It is still not clear whether Jadeja will travel with the team to Vizag or head to National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

Jadeja had also missed out on a Test match last month in South Africa when he developed back spasms on the morning of the first Test in Centurion.

Donald Trump's sexual assault defamation trial was delayed after a juror reported Covid symptoms Monday, the eve of the New Hampshire Republican presidential primary vote.

The juror in the civil case, at which Donald Trump says he will testify, reported symptoms of fever, as did one of Donald Trump's lawyers who had a separate exposure, the federal court in New York heard.

"We sent him home... We will not take testimony today, we will take the day off," said Judge Lewis Kaplan of juror number three.

Following the announcement of the delay, which will be reviewed Tuesday to determine if the case in its final stages can proceed, Donald Trump was whisked away in a metallic black Chevrolet SUV.

E. Jean Carroll, a successful writer, is seeking more than $10 million in damages for defamation by Donald Trump, whom another New York civil jury found liable for sexual assault against her.

Donald Trump separately faces four serious criminal cases, including his alleged attempt to overthrow the results of the 2020 election in which he lost to Biden.

He has shuttled between New York to attend the defamation case and a separate civil fraud trial and New Hampshire campaign stops.

The primary is seen as the last, best chance for Haley to stop Donald Trump, who despite being twice impeached as president and now facing four criminal cases, has succeeded in imposing his far-right brand on the entire Republican party.

A new Washington Post/Monmouth poll Monday showed Donald Trump, 77, backed by 52 percent in New Hampshire to Haley's 34 percent.

Dynamic Parcel Distribution (DPD) deactivated its AI online chatbot after a customer, 30-year-old Ashley Beauchamp, discovered the bot using inappropriate language and even creating a critical poem about the parcel delivery company. Ashley became frustrated while attempting to locate a missing parcel and felt that the chatbot was not providing helpful information. Subsequently, he posed some questions to the chatbot, and the system's responses were entirely unexpected and not in line with the intended interaction. As a result of these unforeseen issues, DPD decided to disable the chatbot to address the situation.

According to The Guardian, Ashley asked the chatbot to tell him a joke, but he soon progressed to getting the chatbot to write a poem criticising the company. With a few more prompts, the chatbot also swore.

Mr Beauchamp shared the conversation on X, with the chatbot replying to one message: "F**k yeah! I'll do my best to be as helpful as possible, even if it means swearing."

Then, in another instance, the chatbot calls itself a "useless Chatbot that can't help you".

I thought this was a special appearance, but the love is still pouring."

The Biden administration on Wednesday returned the Yemen-based Houthi rebels to a list of terrorist groups, U.S. officials said, in the latest attempt by Washington to stem attacks on international shipping.

Officials said the "Specially Designated Global Terrorist" (SDGT) designation, which hits the Iran-aligned group with harsh sanctions, was aimed at cutting off funding and weapons the Houthis have used to attack or hijack ships in vital Red Sea shipping lanes.

The Houthis' campaign has disrupted global commerce, stoked fears of inflation and deepened concern that fallout from the Israel-Hamas war could destabilize the Middle East.

"These attacks fit the textbook definition of terrorism," said one of three administration officials who briefed reporters ahead of the announcement on condition of anonymity.

The designation comes after American and British warplanes, ships and submarines last week launched dozens of air strikes against the Houthis, who control the most populous parts of Yemen.

The U.S. military on Tuesday carried out its latest strike against four Houthi anti-ship ballistic missiles, two U.S. officials told Reuters.

The Houthi militia movement, which says the attacks on commercial ships are aimed at supporting the Palestinians in Israel's war in Gaza, has threatened a "strong and effective response."

The attacks are part of a broad response to the Gaza conflict by a so-called Axis of Resistance - including the Houthis alongside Palestinian militants Hamas, Lebanon-based Hezbollah and Iraq's Shiite militias - with ties to U.S. adversary Iran.

"We will continue to counter and blunt Iranian malign influence wherever we can. So of course the choice to move away from Iran is now in the hands of the Houthis," said a second official, adding that the U.S. would consider lifting the designation if the attacks on shipping cease.

HUMANITARIAN SITUATION

A Saudi Arabia-led military coalition intervened in Yemen in 2015, backing government forces fighting the Houthis in a war widely seen as a proxy conflict between U.S. ally Saudi Arabia and Iran.

The Trump administration added the Houthis to two lists designating them as terrorists a day before its term ended, prompting the United Nations, aid groups and some U.S. lawmakers to express fears that sanctions would disrupt flows of food, fuel and other commodities into Yemen.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Feb. 12, 2021, revoked the designations in "recognition of the dire humanitarian situation in Yemen."

The United Nations describes the humanitarian crisis in Yemen as "severe" with more than 21 million people - two thirds of the population - in need of aid. It says more than 80% of the population struggles to access food, safe drinking water and adequate health services.

Blinken was on Wednesday relisting the Houthis as SDGTs, the U.S. officials said, but not as a "foreign terrorist organization," which includes stricter prohibitions on providing material support to those on the list and would mean automatic travel bans.

The former designation "provides better flexibility to achieve the aims that we have in terms of carving out and safeguarding humanitarian assistance," an official said, a reference to measures to mitigate the impact of the move on Yemen's people that Washington plans to introduce before the designation takes force in 30 days.

A recent excavation in Vadnagar, Prime Minister Modi's hometown, unearthed evidence of unbroken cultural continuity spanning centuries. This challenges the long-held belief of a "Dark Age" following the Harappan civilization's collapse, suggesting a more nuanced picture of the region's history.

Led by experts from IIT Kharagpur, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), and Deccan College, the study has found evidence of a human settlement that is as old as 800 BCE (before the Christian Era) at Vadnagar in Gujarat.

In a statement released by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, the results of a comprehensive study on deep archaeological excavation in Vadnagar shed light on the intricate dynamics of the region.

The study suggests a correlation between the rise and fall of various kingdoms over a 3,000-year period and recurrent invasions by Central Asian warriors. The driving force behind these historical events, according to the study, appears to be significant changes in climate, such as fluctuations in rainfall or periods of drought.

The findings have just been published in a paper titled "Climate, human settlement, and migration in South Asia from early historic to medieval period: Evidence from new archaeological excavation at Vadnagar, Western India" in the prestigious Elsevier journal 'Quaternary Science Reviews'.

While the excavation was led by ASI, the study was funded by the Directorate of Archaeology & Museums, Government of Gujarat, which is entrusted with building India's first experiential digital museum (experiential means the process of learning through experience) at Vadnagar.

Incidentally, Vadnagar is also the native village of Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India.

Vadnagar has been a multi-cultural and multi-religious (Buddhist, Hindu, Jain, and Islamic) settlement.

"Excavation in its several deep trenches revealed the presence of seven cultural stages (periods), namely, Mauryan, Indo-Greek, Indo-Scythian or Shaka-Kshatrapas, Hindu-Solankis, Sultanate-Mughal (Islamic), and Gaekwad-British colonial rule, and the city is continuing even today. One of the oldest Buddhist monasteries has been discovered during our excavation. We found characteristic archaeological artefacts, potteries, copper, gold, silver, and iron objects, and intricately designed bangles. We also found coin moulds of Greek king Appollodatus during the Indo-Greek rule at Vadnagar," said ASI archaeologist Abhijit Ambekar, co-author of the paper who led the excavation in 2016.

A woman from Orlando has claimed that she caught her husband cheating and it eventually saved their marriage. Charity Craig, 45, and her husband, Matt, 40, separated for 8 months in 2012 after she found text messages from another woman on her husband's phone.

Mrs Craig revealed that her husband, Matt, left the home to continue his relationship with the other woman. But they eventually decided to give their relationship another go after therapy, and now the couple are happily ever after, the New York Post reported.

"At the time, my husband's affair felt like the end of the world, but it turned out to be the best thing for us as we've come back so much stronger," Charity, a jewellery company founder, told SWNS.

The couple started dating in their teens and married in their early 20s. But by 2012, with four kids, their marriage had hit rock bottom.

Mrs Craig revealed that she had grown suspicious of her husband's behaviour by July 2012, after she noticed that he stayed late even after working as a music pastor.

"I was working over 60 hours a week in a high-stress position. I spent more time at work than with my family," explained Matt, who is now a chief marketing officer. "I was struggling between my family and my dreams of pursuing a musical career."

After a few days, Mrs Craig's fears were confirmed when she discovered text messages from another woman.

"I confronted him, and he broke down and told me everything," Charity shared.

Matt admitted to dating another woman for two months.

The couple soon decided to take the path of divorce.

"I thought I knew my husband better than anyone else, but he'd been living a double life and I had no idea," Charity lamented. "My whole world was turned upside down, and I didn't know how I'd ever recover."

While Matt moved on with another woman, Mrs Craig visited a counsellor.

After a few sessions, she learned that Matt's affair was not the only reason for their marital problems.

"I started therapy, and I realized that I was no longer the woman he'd married, and he wasn't solely to blame for the breakdown of our relationship," Charity recalled.

"I spent eight months working on myself - building up my self-confidence and learning how to deal with my problems healthily," she continued.

She shared that they got back together in February 2013 after undergoing couple counselling.

Not just that, Matt also gave Charity all the passwords to his social media and phone.
"Matt was incredibly sorry for the affair, but I was also sorry for my part in the breakdown of our marriage," Charity said. "We had to completely start again, but it was worth it."

Now, Charity works as a marriage counsellor to help other couples struggling after an affair.

"It's hard work, but so rewarding to help other couples move past betrayal and rebuild their marriage," the mom of four declared.

Soon, after the story of the couple went viral. In the comments section, many people expressed concern about their relationship.

"He's gonna do it again," a user wrote.

"Bro looks happy to have made it thru. Forgiveness. It can work wonders! If the lesson was learned," another user wrote.

"Wait until she finds out he's gay," the third user commented.

After allegedly denying him a chance to meet his son for at least three weeks despite a court order, the CEO accused of murdering the four-year-old had asked him to pick up the child in a Bengaluru locality on January 7, a day after she had already checked into a serviced apartment in Goa.

The lawyer of Suchana Seth's husband, Venkat Raman, said the CEO sent an e-mail to Mr Raman on January 6 and said he could meet their child the next day. According to the police complaint lodged by the manager of a Goa serviced apartment, however, she had checked in with their four-year-old son on the very night this e-mail was sent. The room had been booked, and paid for, until January 10.

Mr Raman's lawyer said the husband was not aware that his wife and child were in Goa and he went to the designated meeting spot, waited for an hour, sent her a WhatsApp message and two e-mails asking if everything was okay, and then left when she did not turn up. The four-year-old's body was discovered in Seth's suitcase on January 8, when she had left Goa and was headed to Bengaluru.

Mr Raman recorded his statement before the Goa police on Saturday afternoon and said he had not been allowed to meet the child for the past five weeks, according to a report by news agency PTI.

'Seeking Retribution Futile'

Speaking to reporters in Hindi on Saturday, Mr Raman's lawyer, Azhar Meer, said seeking retribution after the child's death was futile, stating, "We do not expect any justice. The child is dead and why the mother did it is immaterial, in a sense."

Asked what the trigger for the murder could be, he said, "We can only guess. A mother doing this to her child is so unnatural that no answer can give anyone any closure. As for the trigger, we can guess that she probably did not want the son to meet the father and had, thus, filed cases. (In a custody dispute) every party thinks they have a right, but the child has an equal right to receive love from both the mother and the father."

Mr Meer said that the Bengaluru family court, where the custody case was being heard, had ruled progressively in Mr Raman's favour over the past year. He said Mr Raman was initially allowed to speak to the child on the phone or over video call, and then permitted to spend time with him within the court premises once in two weeks.

In November, the lawyer said, the husband was allowed to meet the child at home from morning to evening. "She was probably angry that the judge had been ruling in the father's favour, but why kill the child because of this anger?"

On Seth's claims that Mr Raman was harassing her, Mr Meer said that was a lie. "But even if we assume that it was true, what was the child's fault? The child wasn't harassing her. She could have taken out her anger at the husband, why take it out on the child... There is someone in custody in whose bag the child was found and then there's the husband who had to conduct his last rites. You can't imagine what he is going through."

'Refused To Comply'

The lawyer said the last court order, on November 20, permitted Mr Raman to meet his son once every week, from morning to evening. The meetings would take place on Sunday and the last one was on December 10.

"She didn't send the boy for three or four weeks. There were multiple requests, but she refused to comply. January 7, Sunday, is when the child was taken from this world and we had hoped that Mr Raman would be allowed to meet him that day," he said.

Asked whether Mr Raman knew that Seth and the child were in Goa, Mr Meer asserted, "No, he absolutely did not. On January 6, she had written an e-mail asking Mr Raman to pick up the child on  the morning of January 7 from Sadashiva Nagar in Bengaluru. He went there and waited from 10 am to 11 am, went back home and then left for some work in the evening.

"Before leaving the meeting spot, he sent her a WhatsApp message saying 'I am here' and also sent two e-mails saying he was waiting and that he hoped everything was okay," he added.

The lawyer said Suchana had requested that the pick-up and drop-off point for Mr Raman's meetings with his son be a public place. "In her words, it was a child-safe place or something like that, and she used to use a coffee shop," he said.

According to the police, Suchana Seth had tried to die by suicide after allegedly murdering her son. She was caught in Karnataka's Chitradurga on January 8 - when she was on her way to Bengaluru, with the child's body in a suitcase - after the staff at the service apartment alerted the police about bloodstains being found in her room.

From millennial pout to the peace sign, there have been several poses that have hung around for decades. However, now the "nose cover" pose has left a lot of adults scratching their heads over what it might mean. Gen Z children everywhere seem to be hopping on this trend, including Tyson Fury's 14-year-old daughter Venezuela, who has been seen covering her face in a family picture posted on mum Paris Fury's Instagram along with Paris' niece Valentino.

In her Instagram story Boxer Tyson Fury's wife, Paris shared a photo as she celebrated her niece's 13th birthday. Ms Paris posted a family photo to mark the occasion but her niece Valentino, and her eldest daughter Venezuela hid their faces behind their hands with the "nose cover".

Now, according to the New York Post, parents have been left baffled by this latest trend with many asking if it's a secret sign or a "traveller thing". One parent, Michelle Harris, infuriated by the family photos at Christmas being ruined by her teenage son using the 'nose pose' even decided to confront him. "Is everything OK? Why won't you show up in family photos for the handsome boy that you are anymore?' Are you being bullied?" she asked her son, as per the outlet.

But her son's response was a "surprise", Ms Harris recalled. "'No, but I will be if you post pictures of me online without my consent!'" her son told her.

The outlet explained that teenagers nowadays are active online and often seek out embarrassing photos of each other on social media to "roast" them. Covering their faces, then, is a way to potentially evade teasing, the Post reported.

"As parents, we want to capture it all," Ms Harris said. "Their first step, every tooth, the braces, the spots and then we proudly post in our online social circles mindlessly without stopping to think how damaging this can be to our youngsters within their own online social groups," she continued.

Separately, speaking to The Sun, parenting expert Amanda Jenner also attributed the budding trend to teenagers' acne-riddled awkward phase. "It's important to remember that this phase is a normal part of growing up, where seeking independence and establishing personal boundaries are key developmental milestones," she explained.

However, Ms Jenner also said that the online landscape can be "hard" for teens especially when unfiltered or unedited photos of them are plastered on a parent's Facebook feed. Therefore, the "nose cover" trend allows Gen Z to be in a photo to make their parents happy while still maintaining harmony. "It's very sad that we can't share and be proud of family photos, but unfortunately this is the way it is today," Ms Jenner said.

Now, going forward, Ms Harris said that she aims to be more mindful of the content she shares online and urges other parents to ask for consent before sharing a seemingly innocent photo.

A 41-year-old US woman was arrested on Monday for running a donation scam by claiming her daughter had cancer. According to the New York Post, Pamela Reed from Ohio allegedly lied to her friends and family for years about the health of her 7-year-old daughter, whom she publicly portrayed on the internet as a blind and sickly child suffering from several diseases, including acute myeloid leukaemia and regular seizures. She even admitted to shaving her young child's head in order to sell the plot, cops said.

Community members generously "participated in fundraising efforts and had made monetary contributions to help the family offset medical costs," the Noble County Sheriff's Office said in a statement, as per the Post

The 41-year-old's scam was uncovered by the local child services. She was charged with theft by deception - a felony of the fourth degree, which can lead to a year and a half of prison time.

According to Newsweek, Reed enticed several local organisations to participate in her fake fundraising efforts. One organization had donated around $8,000 to the family, cops said.

Reed posted images online of her 7-year-old daughter receiving medical scans. She even shaved the child's head to give the appearance she was undergoing cancer treatment. The child reportedly missed over 280 hours of school in the 2023-2024 year due to medical examinations. Moreover, the mother had previously also claimed that her child had severed aplastic anaemia, a disease that prevents bone marrow from creating enough blood cells.

Reed's scheme came crashing down last week after an elementary school nurse discovered the little girl was not blind in her right eye as her mother had claimed. The nurse also confirmed that the 7-year-old did not have cancer or leukaemia, and she never had cancer or leukaemia.

Following her arrest, Reed "admitted during questioning that she had exaggerated and fabricated medical conditions to receive monetary donations from local organizations" and was transported to Noble County Jail, the sheriff's office said.

"Child abuse and neglect isn't always cut and dry, cookie cutter scenarios," Sheriff Jason Mackie, who led the investigation, and Misty Wells, the director of the Noble County Department of Job and Family Services, said in a joint statement. "If you as a professional or as a member of our community feel like something just isn't quite right, don't hesitate, make the report," they added.

According to officials, Reed's bond was set at $50,000. A preliminary hearing is set to take place on January 16.

The four-year-old son of the Bengaluru start-up founder Suchana Seth was smothered with a pillow and died of suffocation, doctors of Hiriyur Hospital said after preliminary examination of the body as it came for postmortem. The boy, who died in Goa, was taken to the Hiriyur Hospital mortuary, after his father returned from Indonesia. The child's mother has been arrested for the murder and is in police custody for questioning.

"The child was smothered," Dr Kumar Naik, who was in charge of the postmortem examination, told the media.

"He could have probably died after being suffocated by a pillow or some other object. The child doesn't seem like he was killed by strangulation using hands. The killing took place over 36 hours ago. His face and chest are swollen due to suffocation. And the child's nose was bleeding," he added.

The 39-year-old woman was caught from Karnataka's Chitradurga on Monday night while travelling with her son's body packed in a bag.

The police said she is believed to have killed her son in a service apartment in Goa's Candolim, where they checked in on January 6. Then she tried suicide by slashing her wrist, the police said.

But her moves thereafter have raised a number of questions.

Suchana Seth said she wanted a taxi for a 600-km journey to Bengaluru, brushing off the hotel authorities' suggestion that she take a flight. She told them her son was staying with a friend and gave an address that was later found to be fake.

The police are yet to zero-in on the motive for the murder. Suchana Seth, they said, is divorcing her husband and they had not parted on amicable terms.

The woman was arrested after the staff at the Sol Banyan Grande noticed bloodstains while cleaning the service apartment room and called in the police. The police contacted the driver of her cab and instructed him to head to the nearest police station.

The curtain falls on the last vestige of elected representatives in Jammu and Kashmir as the term of over 28,000 panchayat members ended today with no fresh elections in sight.

In the absence of an elected government in the erstwhile state for more than five years, Panchayats-elected local bodies were the only democratic institutions functional in the region.

The administration of the Union Territory is likely to appoint administrators who will exercise the powers of grassroots elected bodies till the time fresh elections are held.

The Jammu and Kashmir State Election Commission today announced a revision of electoral rolls which will be published by February 26. It will be followed by a delimitation of Panchayats and reservation of seats for OBCs, sources told NDTV.

"The State Election Commission will run a special campaign to undertake an annual summary revision of panchayat electoral rolls," Jammu and Kashmir State Election Commissioner, BR Sharma, said.

While the District Development Councils ( DDC), which is the third tier of the Panchayati Raj System will continue to function, they become meaningless in the absence of panchayats and block development councils.

Elections for the panchayats and Urban local bodies were last held in November and December 2018.

In the wake of an election boycott by the National Conference and the PDP, most of the panchayat members were elected unopposed. Around 12,000 seats remained vacant and were filled after the by-elections two years later in 2020.

After the completion of the five-year term, all the urban local bodies ceased to exist in December last month.

Jammu and Kashmir has been under direct Central rule since June 2018. Last month, the Supreme Court set the deadline for holding assembly elections before September this year.

The nature of the violence in Manipur has shifted from clashes between two communities to attacks by insurgents on security forces now, Chief Minister N Biren Singh told NDTV in an exclusive interview.

The comments come amid fierce gunfights between the security forces and insurgents in Moreh, a key trading town on the India-Myanmar border.

"During these past eight months, unwanted incidents took place on some days, not for the whole eight months. Three-four months were peaceful and silent. The violence during the new year was between the state security forces and militants, not between two communities. Now, the dimension of the conflict has changed to state forces fighting against militants," Mr Singh told NDTV in an interview.

The Kuki tribes have asked the Centre to remove the state police from Moreh and keep only central forces. They have alleged the police of attacking Kuki civilians. The Manipur Police have refuted the allegations and said those attacking the state police commandos were hill-based insurgents.

The Chief Minister called for ending the Free-Movement Regime (FMR) on the India-Myanmar border, which allows people on either side of the border to travel over 15 km without papers in each other's territory.

"Border fencing is a must. It is important to cancel the FMR. Of course, people should come. Follow the rules, get paperwork as is done in any international travel. But right now there is no system in place, no checks," Mr Singh told NDTV.

The Chief Minister has said they suspect the involvement of foreign mercenaries in the Manipur violence.

On what the BJP government has been doing to restore full normalcy in Manipur, Mr Singh said, "People in the hills and the valley are themselves trying to restore peace. From the government side also we are trying our best with the guidance of Home Minister Amit Shah. Both sides have been talking and discussions happening through proper channels. I can't disclose everything. Total normalcy will be restored very soon," Mr Singh said, adding the government will give Rs 1 lakh each to all displaced people in 10 days so that they can meet their immediate expenditure.

Mr Singh blamed several successive governments in the past for the current crisis. "Had the leaders back in 1947-49 during the merger given some attention, this problem would not have happened," he told NDTV.

"The border is 398 km long. Some people on both sides of the border share some ethnic ties. Had the fencing been done well decades ago and a pass system developed, the issue of influx would not have grown so big. The Centre in those early years left Manipur on its own. The border is guarded by the Assam Rifles, but they are doing two jobs - guarding the border and carrying out counter-insurgency operations. They are stationed 10-20 km inside from the border. On top of this, there is the Free-Movement Regime (FMR), which allows people from across the border to come for several kilometres without any checks. So think, they are the same tribe, same community, same language, same culture," the Chief Minister said.

"No one ever thought about the indigenous people of Manipur, no one. It is only after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah came that we saw development and security in this region. Otherwise, the previous governments - I don't want to say about other states - left Manipur on its own. Whatever is happening now is because of the inaction by the previous governments," Mr Singh said.

Over 180 have died and thousands have been internally displaced in the Manipur violence that began on May 3, 2023.

Former India cricketer Ambati Rayudu revealed the reason behind his decision to take a break from politics, stating his commitment to the Mumbai Indians franchise -MI Emirates- in the UAE's ILT20's second season.

The former Indian cricketer left the political world perplexed when he quit the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) barely eight days after joining it. Rayudu announced on X stated that he was leaving the YSRCP, less than a month after joining CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's party.

"I Ambati Rayudu will be representing the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming ILt20 from Jan 20th in Dubai. Which requires me to be politically non-affiliated whilst playing professional sport," Mr Rayudu posted on X.

The Chennai Super Kings star was inducted into the party by the YRS Congress president and Andhra Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, on December 28, 2023.

Rayudu clarified his position on Sunday, stating that he wanted to be "politically non-affiliated" while playing professional sports and representing a club such as Mumbai Indians.

Rayudu, who aided CSK in their quest for the fifth IPL title in May last year, will return to the Mumbai Indians franchise for the second season of ILT20 after departing them in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2017. The ILT20 will take place in three venues in the UAE: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah, between January 19 and February 17.

The former India batter announced his departure from the IPL following his successful run and hinted at his plans to enter politics.

A rejection email has gone viral on social media for its needlessly rude and aggressive tone. US-based IT company Elite Software Automation sent the email to an applicant who had given a test for the position of Frontend Software Engineer. A screenshot of the mail was shared on the Reddit forum "antiwork", where it left thousands of users shocked. The post, shared on Thursday, has accumulated over 900 Upvotes and hundreds of comments.

The email begins by thanking the candidate for applying for the position of Frontend Software Engineer. It informs them that their application has been rejected due to their failure to clear the automated online test. The email then goes on to state that the candidate will be blacklisted permanently if they try to apply for the same position before the end of the year or if they write to the company for a second chance.

"Any repeated attempts to apply for this position again before this time, or any attempts to retake the test will lead to an automated decline of your application, as well as blacklisting of your profile from any further applications," the email read.

The email also mentions that the company does not accept any excuses. "If you were feeling unwell on the day of the test, or if you were rushing, or if your internet went out, or whatever other excuse you may have, it does not matter," it reads.

The mail also asks the rejected candidate to toughen up. "If you are upset at this email, we have to inform you that life is hard and part of any professional or personal development is dealing with rejection and finding ways to improve," it states.

"Jesus Christ, I would make sure to apply again just to make sure I GET blacklisted by this excuse of a company," commented a third. "So companies no longer wait you to be hired to show how toxic they are," expressed a fourth.

End-of-year beach vacations are a common occurrence among Hollywood and Bollywood celebrities. Beach holidays are all about golden sand, crystal-clear water, vibrant skies, iced cocktails, and uber-chic beach fashion. Proving this point was Kendall Jenner in an elegantly chic sheer dress on a sunny beach, reportedly in Barbados. The diva looked absolutely stunning as she donned a full-sleeved sheer dress with an asymmetrical hemline, a daring front slit, and an elongated trail to follow. The breezy outfit even featured a plunging neckline, an elaborate cutout pattern at the midriff, a ruched waist, and ruffled details at the hemline. Kendall's tresses were tied in a messy bun as she opted for rosy makeup with a dash of kohl in the eyes, pink cheek tint, and a blush pink lip gloss.
